Terms of Service

You must be at least 16 years old, confirm your email, provide a display name, keep your account information accurate, protect your credentials, and promptly tell us about unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts containing false or misleading information.

WEOAUS supports private Checks between people buying, selling, or trading tickets after meeting elsewhere. You can create a single-use expiring code, join by code or link, communicate in a private deal conversation, review agreed details and selected evidence, accept the same agreement, and keep a record of participant confirmations. WEOAUS is not a ticket marketplace or payment service. Negotiation and payment remain where the participants arranged the deal.

Identity verification is required before creating or joining a Check. Stripe Identity processes a government-issued ID and matching live selfie, then provides WEOAUS with a verification status and verified date of birth. When you choose a new profile photo, WEOAUS compares it with the selfie Stripe checked during identity verification, using AWS Rekognition CompareFaces. The comparison is probabilistic and is not a guarantee of identity; existing legacy profile photos are not automatically rematched. Check counts and account connections are not ratings or guarantees of safety.

Both participants must review and accept the same agreement. If agreed details change, renewed acceptance is required. Buyers should confirm receipt only after tickets arrive in their own original issuer account. In a trade, each receiver should confirm the tickets they received. A completed Check records participant statements and confirmations. Identity confirmation and evidence review are signals, not a guarantee of ticket possession or authenticity, transferability, payment, behavior, or venue entry. WEOAUS uses Ticketmaster's Discovery API to source some event listings. It does not connect to a participant's Ticketmaster, AXS, or other ticket account, and it does not verify whether specific tickets are owned or valid through an issuer.

You retain ownership of content you submit, including Check details, messages, photos, ticket proof, supporting evidence, and reports. You grant WEOAUS a non-exclusive license to process, store, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service and to review reported records. Ticket proof may be a requested prepared screenshot, screen recording, or both. Its preparation may attempt barcode and QR masking, metadata and recording-audio removal, capture-time checks, and detection of large video timeline gaps. Supporting evidence is currently limited to image uploads in the Ticket context, Payment receipt, and Transfer confirmation categories. New supporting images receive local barcode and QR masking and require visual review before upload, but do not receive ticket-proof capture-time or timeline analysis. Older supporting images were not retroactively redacted. These controls have technical limits and do not prove authenticity, ownership, complete code detection, or a continuous recording. You must review prepared content and remove barcodes, QR codes, passwords, payment numbers, identity details, or anything else you do not intend to share.

You may not harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, defraud, share illegal or sexually exploitative material, distribute spam, interfere with the service, gain unauthorized access, use automated abuse tools, or violate applicable law. You must have the right to share any content you submit. Violations may result in content restriction, account suspension, or termination.

We may review reported Checks, messages, evidence, and accounts and may restrict or remove content or access that violates these Terms or creates safety or legal risk. Private participant access does not prevent authorized safety review of reported records. Screen protection can reduce some forms of capture but cannot prevent another camera or guarantee universal screenshot prevention. You can report suspected ticket fraud in the app. A report preserves relevant Check details, messages, evidence, and account identifiers for authorized staff review. A report is not proof of wrongdoing and is not automatically sent to police. You may contact your local authorities and provide the WEOAUS report reference. WEOAUS reviews official authority requests, verifies the requester and legal basis, limits disclosures to what is required or permitted by applicable law, and keeps an internal record of the request and decision. WEOAUS does not promise to contact police in every country. WEOAUS never shows or gives one participant another person's government ID, Stripe identity documents, or full date of birth.

Core ticket Checks do not require precise location. If information from an earlier version of WEOAUS remains associated with your account, it continues to be handled under the Privacy Policy and applicable rights.

WEOAUS is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure operation, or the accuracy or reliability of participant content.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WEOAUS and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the service. Our total liability for all claims shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WEOAUS and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal expenses arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these Terms, harms another person or the service, or creates safety or legal risk. To request account deletion, use WEOAUS Settings. If you cannot access the app, email support@weoaus.ca from your account email.

A deletion request immediately deactivates your account and signs you out. Unclaimed codes stop working. Active Checks close and become read-only. Account deletion is completed after the longest applicable shared-Check retention period. A connected Check, its agreement versions, conversation, receipts, and private evidence are preserved for at least 30 days after the deletion request or Check closure, whichever is later, so the other participant does not lose the shared record. Reported Check records are kept while a report is open or under review, then for 30 days after resolution or dismissal. A documented legal hold can extend retention until the hold is released, followed by the 30-day period. The longest applicable period applies. Scheduled cleanup removes the Check record and private evidence after that period. Providers may retain their own data under their terms and legal obligations, including Stripe Identity materials. WEOAUS account deletion does not instantly erase data held by Stripe or other providers.

We may update these Terms and will provide notice of material changes through the app or another appropriate method. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not agree, stop using the service and request account deletion.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the applicable province in which WEOAUS operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes relating to these Terms or the service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Canada.
